What is Root canal and its treatment?

   ROOT CANAL Root Canal () a) Root canal treatment is usually used to save damaged or infected teeth. This  procedure involves removing the pulp and infected nerves, placing dentures, and cleaning the  inside of the tooth; it is then filled with a resinous substance called gutta-percha. Often, a general  dentist or endodontist will perform root canal treatment while you are under local anesthesia.  This procedure depends on the number of teeth treated, the severity of the damage, etc. It varies  in cost, but in general, it is a very inexpensive procedure.  When the nerve tissue or pulp of the  tooth is damaged, it begins to break down and allows microbes to grow in the pulp cavity. These  microbes and other decaying materials cause infection or inflammation of the tooth. A cyst is a  pocket filled with saliva that forms on the tip of the root of a tooth.
