TIPS
Always Practice:
Practice really makes a big difference. We want to rehearse out loud and practice not only the
message but also the projection, timing, and breathing of the voice. This also helps with your
overall comfort level. Giving a speech or presentation is much easier if you really understand
the content.
Visualize:
Imagine yourself doing a great job giving a speech, speaking loudly, confidently, clearly, and
being well received. Visualization techniques have been shown to improve reliability and
performance.
Be positive:
People don't want you to fail, so don’t start down this path mentally. Be positive about what
you think and how you think. Also, don't point out "negatives" like forgetting to say
something or being nervous. Go ahead and find your train of thought again.
Focus on the Message:
Don't think about how many people are listening to you, who they are, or why you are there.
Instead, think about what you are saying. Focus on your message and let the rest disappear.
